Mission Statement:
Theatre should be a right, not a privilege.
Off Center Theatre serves the segment of the population outside of New York’s cultural mainstream. Together, with the blessings of several friends, Abigail Rosen & Tony McGrath created a street theatre company to reach those who were intimidated by live, “legitimate” theatre. Off Center Theatre seeks to demystify the separation between legitimate stage productions and commercial movie productions. Their programs featuring performances of relevant theatre bridges those gaps, and summons audiences who are intimidated by, and seldom attend traditional Broadway theatre.
